UML's Mahato elected Madi Mayor

By Shaligram Nepal, Chitwan, May 17:  CPN (UML) candidate Tara Kumari Kaji Mahato of CPN (UML) is elected Mayor of Madi Municipality.

Mahato secured 9,901 votes against her nearest rival, Rishi Kafle, the candidates of five party alliance candidate from CPN (Maoist Center), who secured 7,729 votes.

UML and Rstriya Prajatantra Party have forged electoral alliance in the municipality, for the mayor and deputy mayor of local level.

However, Khem Mahato of Nepali Congress won the seat of Deputy Mayor securing 6,830 votes against his closes rival Madan Paudel of RPP, who got 5,140 votes.

UML candidate Deependra Raj Paudel elected the Chair in ward no. 6

CPN (Maoist Center) candidates for Ward Chair got elected in ward no.2,4,5 and 9 while RPP won in ward no. 1 and 8 while CPN (Unified Socialist) won ward no. 3 and 7.
