Baglung, Aug. 26: The Sharada Secondary School at Chaur village of Bareng Rural Municipality in Baglung district has been closed for three days as several students were taken ill on Thursday and Friday.

Principal Devi Dutta Poudel said seven girl students fainted in two days after complaining of headache, nausea and high-pitched cry.

Poudel said girl students from grade 7-10 fell sick with unusual symptoms.

According to principal Poduel, two students had showed same sort of illness some three months in the school and no such case was recorded since then.

It is learnt that other students in the school are terrified after the seven students were taken ill from an unknown disease.

The school was closed after the local residents' call for its closure to avoid such symptoms on other students.

A meeting of the school management committee held on Friday took a decision to close the school for three days. The school will open on coming Wednesday.

The ill students, who fainted on Thursday, were handed over to their parents while the two others having same sort of illness are sent to a health post along with two teachers. "This issue has been shared to the Health Section Chief of the Rural Municipality," Poudel added.

Teacher Sarita Poudel shared that there has been no improvement on the health condition of the students who fell down on Thursday.

The school would take further decision after consulting the health workers even if the issue was not resolved Wednesday onwards, principal Poudel stated. (RSS)
