By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Dec. 7: A full court meeting of the Supreme Court held today has asked the federal parliament secretariat to furnish the basis for terming the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana ineffective.

The SC decision comes in the wake of the general secretary of the parliament Dr. Bharat Raj Gautam writing a letter today morning to the SC and other concerned offices about the impeachment motion as being ineffective.

The SC full court held the meeting following the general secretary’s letter. The meeting has asked seven questions in relation to the basis that has turned the impeachment motion ineffective, according to the statement issued by the joint registrar of the SC, Narayan Prasad Regmi.

The SC has asked about the constitutional and legal provisions that enabled the general secretary to term the motion invalid.
