Sarlahi suspension bridge luring tourists

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Sarlahi, Jan. 29: The places near the suspension bridge at Nunthar over the Bagmati River in Sarlahi district are gaining popularity among tourists from home and abroad.

After the construction of the suspension bridge, the number of people reaching the spot for recreational activities has increased lately. The people visiting Nunthar and Buddha Stupa do not leave the area without visiting the suspension bridge and staying there for a while, informed Bhimsen Thapa of Karmaiya in Bagmati Municipality-11.

Locals said that the hotel business around the Bagmati River banks started booming after a large number of tourists started coming from other districts including Sarlahi and Rautahat and also from Bihar in India.

Shivkrishna Vaidya, the ward chair of Lalbandi Municipality-13, said that more and more people were coming to Pattharkot for picnics and refreshment because of the pleasant and peaceful environment in Chure.

Local residents said that the domestic tourists had also increased in Hariwan Municipality-1, Kailashpuri, where the suspension bridge is built.
