Sindhupalchowk, Feb 1 : Land ownership certificates were handed over to 41 families who were rendered displaced due to landslide in Lidi, Sindhupalchowk.
Land ownership certificates were
distributed to those displaced by fatal landslide that took place in Jugal
rural municipality-2, Lidi after two-and-a-half years.
Member of the House of
Representatives Madhav Sapkota on Tuesday handed over the certificates to the
disaster victim families.
It may be noted that as many as 209
families were displaced when the landslide had struck Lidi village of Jugal
rural municipality in August 2020.
Forty-one families among the
displaced which were settled in Chautara Sangachowkgadi municipality-4, Deurali
were provided with land ownership.
According to Jugal rural
municipality chair Resham Syangbo, the ownership certificates were distributed
in a way to develop a new settlement.
He pledged to bring further
programmes related to income generation and self-employment for the landslide
survivors.
The rural municipality shared that
among the displaced 64 families were shifted to Banskharka, Selad; 27 families
to Chanaute and 75 families to Simaldanda, Lidi. The government had provided Rs
500,000 each to the displaced families for the construction of residence.
