Foundation stone for Jaleshwor-Matihani road laid

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Mahottari, Feb. 2: Mahanta Thakur, lawmaker and chairman of Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP), laid a foundation stone for the road connecting Jaleshwor Municipality with Matihani Municipality, both in Mahottari district. 

Speaking at the programme on Tuesday, chairman Thakur assured that he would prioritise the basic needs of the people. Stating that education, health, agriculture, roads and other sectors are directly connected with the basic needs of people, he said that he and his party would work more in these sectors.

Provincial Assembly member of Mahottari Constituency 3 (A) and leader of the Parliamentary Party of Madhes Province of LSP recalled that he had emphasised basic needs of people and worked for the development of road infrastructure when he served as the Provincial Minister for Social Development.

A road connecting Sari in Jaleshwor Municipality-10 of the headquarters and Danauli of Matihani Municipality via Dhirapur, Simardahi, Bisanpur, Majhaura and Gobgaura is going to be constructed. 

With the construction of the road, the distance from Jaleshwor Municipality to Matihani Municipality would be significantly shortened.

Hari Prasad Mandal, Mayor of Matihani Municipality, informed that in the first phase, about five kilometres of road section would be constructed from Sari of Jaleshwor Municipality to Dhirapur in Matihani Municipality at a cost of 68.4 million rupees. Informing that the construction of the remaining section, which is under the multi-year programme, would also be started soon, Mayor Mandal said that the road construction would be completed within a year.

Provincial Assembly member Rani Sharma Tiwari, former Mayor of Jaleshwor Municipality Ram Shankar Mishra, Acting Chief of Infrastructure Development Office Janakpurdham Udit Thakur and others had briefed about construction of the road at the programme.
