Information Technology Rekha Sharma has directed the Nepal Telecom (NTC) to make its
services qualitative and reliable by utilizing modern, advanced technology.
Addressing the ceremony to mark the 19th
anniversary of the Nepal Telecom Minister Sharma remarked that the company
needs to make its services effective and accessible to all by considering the
consumers' choice and demand of the market.
She appreciated the way the company has been adopting latest technology to enhance its services and directed it to expand the effort in the days ahead."It is the state's priority to preserve, promote and establish such self-reliant corporations as the NTC as an important source of revenue and employment generation, especially in the context that the constitution has envisioned a socialism-oriented economy," said Minister Sharma.
The NTC has to provide services even in remote
places where there is no profit because the government is its biggest
shareholder and the government wants that the NTC delivers services to people across
the country.
