Kathmandu, Feb 5: CPN (UML) Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged all political parties to practice complete democracy.

Talking in a special hour of today's meeting of the House of Representatives, Chair Oli mentioned that the game played to remain always in power by adopting any method could not strengthen democracy.

He said, "A common consensus can be forged for the cause of good governance, corruption control, not for power."

Stressing that the political parties and government should move ahead in a new way in the changed situation, the CPN (UML) chair expressed the view that political instability would make a negative impact on citizens and democracy.

He appealed for political stability, mentioning that they would provide full and constructive support to the incumbent government.

Informing about the role played by the government led by him in the country's development and prosperity and gained achievements, the UML Chair opined that the coalition government would play a role to uplift the economic condition of the country.

He further said, "The incumbent government will take the country's economy on the right path immediately. Initiatives to address the problems of the economy have already been started."

Chair Oli claimed that the country would be upgraded to a middle-income country from a low-income country within the next 10 years through a campaign "Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali". (RSS)
