‘Govt should be accountable to address issues raised in parliament’

Kathmandu, Feb 5 :  Chairman of the Janamat Party Dr Chandra Kant Raut has said the government should be accountable to the issues raised and commitments made in the parliament.     

In the special hour of the House of Representative on Sunday, Dr Raut said the statements made in the parliament carries meaning and importance, so the government should take steps to address the concerns raised here. “The farmers have not got chemical fertilizers though the House was informed about the import of huge amount of chemical fertilizer. What has been done to end black marketeering and improve distribution system?” he asked.     

Likewise, Chitra Bahadur KC of Rastriya Janamorcha asked that a certain time should be allocated for all HoR members to raise the issues of national importance in the parliament.     

Prem Suwal of Nepal Workers and Peasants Party drew attention of the government to end the tradition of exporting Nepal’s electricity in low price and importing power from the Indian market in a high price.     

Nepali Congress lawmaker Ishwari Neupane said the NC-led government succeeded to leading the country to the right track by holding polls in time.     

Similarly, Gyanendra Bahadur Shahi of Rastriya Prajatantra Party asked the government to control the middlemen in agriculture considering that consumers have paid high price but the farmers have received a very little.     

Birendra Mahato of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Metmani Chaudhary of CPN (Unified Socialist), Loktantrik Samajwadi Party’s Ram Prakash Chaudhary, Tshiring Lhyamu Lama (Tamang) of CPN (Maoist Centre) and other lawmakers also put forth their views on the issues of public importance. (RSS)
