IGP Kunwar pledges internal cleansing

Kathmandu, March 26 : Newly-appointed Inspector General of Nepal Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar has said that internal cleansing was his main priority during his tenure as the IGP.     

Directing the Nepal Police officers and personnel after assuming his office on Saturday, the police chief made firm commitment to working for the strengthening of Nepal Police.     

On the occasion, he underscored the need of working collectively to resolve the gaps in the organization adding that leadership's lone effort was not sufficient to troubleshoot the challenges in the organization.     

Kunwar has also directed the police rank and file to maintain professionalism, transparency and fiscal discipline while offering service to the citizens.     

Earlier today, Kunwar was conferred the insignia of the police chief from Home Secretary Binod Prakash Singh.     

Receiving the insignia, IGP Kunwar said that he was wholeheartedly committed to the internal strengthening of the police administration and the administration would not become strong by hiding weaknesses. (RSS)
