Principles and priorities of appropriation bill discussed in HoR

Kathmandu, May 9 : The principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the fiscal year 2080/81 were discussed in today's House of Representatives (HoR).     

Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat presented the principles and priorities on May 7.     

Taking part in the deliberation on the bill, parliamentarian Thakur Prasad Gaire recommend to the government to generate employment opportunities for the country's development by creating national capital.     

Parliamentarian Durga Rai suggested to improve country's economy by creating employment opportunities in commercial agriculture.     

Parliamentarian Nagina Yadav said budget should be formulated in a way to address deepening economic crises in the country.     

Likewise, another HoR Member Arjun Prasad Mainali said budget allocations should be made by setting criteria of key priorities and priority should be laid on productive works.     

Parliamentarian Ganga Karki said all sides should take efforts to bring the economy to right track.     

Parliamentarian Dinesh Kumari Yadav asked the government to spur investment in agriculture to attain prosperity in the country.     

Likewise, lawmaker Juli Kumari Mahato suggested the government to reopen the key industries that were closed down due to adoption of wrong policy in the country in the past.     

Parliamentarian Rama Koirala Poudel said the employment opportunities should be created within the country.     

Balaram Adhikari called for the finance minister to bring the budget in a way to revitalize industrial production for export.     

Speaking on the occasion, lawmakers – Sushila Thing, Bidya Bhatatrai, Saraswoti Bajimya, Damodar Bhandari,     

Maina Karki, Pratikshya Tiwari, Muktia Kumari Yadav, Sarita Bhusal, Jeewan Pariyar, Amrit Lal Rajbamshi and Man Bahadur Gurung expressed their views on the bill.
