NSU team calls on PM Prachanda, gives backing in Govt's move against corruption

Kathmandu, May 29: A delegation of Nepal Students Union (NSU) called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at his office in Singha Durbar today. NSU is the student organisation close to the Nepali Congress.

The NSU delegation on the occasion appreciated the step initiated by the Prime Minister against corruption and expressed the NSU's solidarity with it.

NSU has also put forth various demands on the Prime Minister. NSU president Dujang Sherpa put various demands as appointing the Chairperson of the Tribhuvan University (TU) Service Commission, the Vice Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), and the need for the state to adopt a policy for educational reforms. 

On the occasion, PM Prachanda said the appointment of the TU Service Commission would be done at the earliest while the topics of educational reforms and developing the university as a hub of innovation and research have been included in the government's policies and programmes. 

He added that initiatives have been made to allocate the required budget for this purpose.(RSS)
