Artist Singh battling for life, family seeking financial support

By Our Correspondent,Nepalgunj, Sept. 27: Nepalgunj’s esteemed senior artist Shyamanand Singh is currently undergoing treatment at the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, Chitwan. 

The 69-year-old artist was diagnosed with stomach cancer just a month ago. Now,  his family is seeking urgent financial assistance to cover the costs of his treatment.

Shyamanand Singh, a multifaceted artist, has made a remarkable impact in various creative domains, including handicrafts, painting, music, literature, and drama. Despite his numerous achievements and accolades, he now faces financial constraints in his fight against life-threatening illness.

Sagar Singh, his younger son, has reached out for support because an impending operation is imminent, and gathering the required funds has proven to be a challenging endeavour.

 Shyamanand Singh, who has dedicated his life to the world of art and creation, currently relies on external financial aid to combat his illness, and his son Sagar earnestly appeals to all compassionate individuals to contribute to saving his father's life through financial support.

For years, Shyamanand Singh has transformed four rooms on the second floor of his residence in Nepalganj-9 Bankegaun into a museum.

 In this space, he has generously provided opportunities for art enthusiasts, well-wishers, and the general public to view his extensive collection of handicrafts and paintings.

One of Shyamanand Singh's last wishes, amidst his battle with cancer, is that the government preserves his house museum and relocates it to an appropriate location, informed his son Sagar.  

Throughout his illustrious career, which encompasses writing and performing in nearly 100 street plays and contributing to the teleserial ‘Abhagan Bane Suhagan’, Singh has etched an unforgettable impression in the realm of art in Nepalgunj.
