By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Dec. 9: ‘Radha: Wrath of the Maeju’, a fantasy fiction set in Patan by Rishi Amatya, is being launched at the Patan Museum, Lalitpur, on Saturday.
According to a statement, during the book launch programme, Samrat Upadhyay, author of the award-winning book ‘Arresting God in Kathmandu’, will introduce the book, followed by a reading by Amatya.
‘Radha: Wrath of the Maeju’ is Rishi Amatya’s debut novel.
The novel is the result of a manuscript submitted for the Safu Writing Fellowship (SWF) 2020, according to the press statement. SWF is a six-month-long mentorship programme organised by Quixote’s Cove which provides support to emerging writers to develop their ideas into books.
The book is published by Safu, a publishing imprint of Quixote’s Cove (QC). ‘Radha: Wrath of the Maeju’ will be available during the book launch, and in major bookstores at Rs. 600.
Rishi Amatya is a writer, researcher and heritage interpreter. He is fascinated by myth, history, and culture, and weaves them into his stories. He has written interactive and self-guided heritage maps for Patan Museum and Hanuman Dhoka Museum.
The book is about a young girl who is excited to spend a quiet Saturday in Patan Durbar Square with her brother and uncle.
But an earthquake shatters her dreams - along with Patan's temples and palaces - and unleashes forces that threaten everyone she loves.
