By Our Correspondent,Taplejung, Sept. 10: Free rabies and tetanus vaccines are now available in Sidingwa Rural Municipality, Taplejung. The rural municipality has arranged budget under its 2025/26 programme to provide these services free of cost.

According to Health Section Chief Pradip Kumar Sah, the service has started at three health posts -- Sabblakhu, Angkhop in Ward No. 3 and Mehele in Ward No. 6.

Rabies vaccines will be given to people bitten by dogs or other suspected animals, while tetanus shots will be provided for injuries caused by rusted metal or tools.

Sah said this initiative ends the need for locals to travel to the district hospital or distant health facilities for these vaccines. Sidingwa Chairperson Man Bahadur Rai urged all residents in the municipality’s seven wards to visit the designated health posts if they need these services.
