Blankets distributions to dalit and underprivileged community held

By Vinay Karn, Kalyanpur (Saptari), Jan 7: Mahadev Rural Municipality in Saptari has distributed fibre blankets when a cold wave continues.

In Durgapur during a program of the rural municipality,  Chair Sunil Kumar Mandal distributed fibre blankets to Dalit communities, underprivileged families, disabled, senior citizens, and single women of Ward No.5.

While distributing the blankets, Chief Guest and Rural Municipality Chair Sunil Kumar Mandal said the municipality provided fibre blankets to Dalit, underprivileged, disabled, elderly, and single women to help them stay safe from the cold during the cold wave.

According to Chair, the municipality has distributed 400 blankets among six wards to help groups at risk during the winter season.

He further added that the rural municipality will continue to run similar social programmes in the coming days, keeping targeted groups at the centre.

The programme took place under the chairpersonship of Ward Chair Hareram Mandal and drew the participation of ward members, social workers, and local community leaders. After receiving the blankets, local beneficiaries presented their gratitude to the rural municipality.
