8.917 million ballot papers printed so far

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Jan 19: The election commission has completed the printing of 8.917 million ballot papers for the proportional representation category of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

The commission continues printing ballot papers at the Janak Education Materials Centre in Bhaktapur. The center printed 1.314 million ballot papers in the past 24 hours alone.

The commission has set a target of printing 20.83 million ballot papers. Officials said the commission plans to print a slightly higher number of ballots than the total number of registered voters.

According to details provided by the commission ,11.913million ballot papers remain to be printed.  The Commission has already packed ballot papers equivalent to 20,830 boxes, while it still needs to pack ballots equivalent to 14,420 boxes.

The centre has already sent 1,098,200 ballot papers to the commission as samples.
