Bheri Hospital gets best ranking for second time

By Our Correspondent Nepalgunj, May 27: Bheri Hospital has been recognised as a best hospital for second time among all the federal hospital across the nation. 

The hospital was recognised as a best hospital by implementing the minimum service standard. 

According to the hospital, it was rewarded as the best hospital by the evaluation of the Department of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). 

“We feel proud as our hospital has been rewarded as a best hospital for the second time,” Dr. Birendra Bahadur Chand, chief of the hospital. 

The evaluation of hospital was made by monitoring the account administration, clinical service, support service, management sector and all the situation of the hospital, said Dr. Chand. The evaluation was made by a team of Dr. Roshan Neupane, undersecretary of the MoHP, added Dr. Chand. 

As a referral hospital, Bheri hospital has become trustworthy hospital among people of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudhurpaschim provinces. 

The hospital had proven its capacity during the first and second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.  The hospital provided its best services and treat all the patients who had visit the hospital during the time of COVID-19, said Dr. Prakash Thapa, former chief at the hospital.

“We managed places to treat COVID-19 patients, and no one was returned by the hospital,” said Dr. Thapa. 

Bheri hospital had got 67 marks in the fiscal year 2021/22, according to Dr. Chand. The hospital has been upgraded with six marks in its evaluation by the MoHP. 

There are 17 provincial hospitals across the nation and among them nine hospitals had fulfilled the category of minimum service standard. 

With the minimum service standard implementation, the Bheri hospital was evaluated as a best hospital.  The hospital was rewarded as a best for continuous two years, which has proved that it has been providing a qualitative service, said Dr. Sanket Risal, information officer at the hospital. 

The hospital is serving more than 200,000 people from Lumbini, Karnali and Sudhurpashim provinces.
