Communication and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki has been
recommended as a candidate from the Nepali Congress for the election of the Member
of the House of Representatives (HoR) from Constituency No. 4 of Sunsari
district.
The HoR election is slated for November 20.
Minister Karki is also a member of the task force of the
ruling alliance for seat allocation and the government spokesperson.
A meeting of the NC Constituency No. 4 of the district
held on Sunday recommended Karki, an NC central committee member, unanimously
as the NC's sole candidate from the constituency for the November 20 poll.
Minister
Karki was elected as the HoR member from the same constituency in the poll held
in 2017.
Karki had then secured 31,347 votes against his closest
rival Ramesh Shrestha of CPN (UML) who got 25,750.
Ayub Ansari, president of the NC Sunsari constituency no.
4, informed that Minister Karki was recommended unopposed from the party
recognising his contribution to the party's organizational consolidation and
development of the Sunsari district.
The people of Constituency 4 of Sunsari district have
great expectations and trust in NC's influential leader Karki for the overall
development of the constituency and the district.
