Surgery service with fibre laser machine begins in Jhapa

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Jhapa, Feb. 4: Om Sai Pathivara Hospital in Bhadrapur, Jhapa, has started surgery service with the world-class fiber laser machine. The hospital said that the service was introduced on the occasion of its 14th anniversary. 

Deep Kumar Pokharel, chairman of the hospital, said that the laser services for kidney stones, urinary tract stones, urinary bladder stones and prostate without surgery have been introduced in the hospital. 

According to Pokharel, the services provided by the laser machine will be simple and convenient for the patients. Earlier, residents of this area were compelled to visit India and elsewhere to get this service. Now, this service has started in our own place, he added. 

This hospital, which was established in 2009, has been providing services including, ICU, Dialysis, Laparoscopic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Ear Nose and Throat Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery among others.  

According to Sashi K Singh, consultant laparoscopic and urology surgeon of the hospital, the patients will be benefitted by the new methods of treatment using world-class laser (RIR) technology. The hospital has also been implementing and providing services through the health insurance programme of the government.
