By Rajan Rawat, Humla, Mar 15: The telemedicine service has been started in a health post at Simkot Rural Municipality-7.

The health post has started the service from Thursday to provide services from consultants.

Head of the health branch of the Simkot Rural Municipality Nar Bahadur Bhandari said that the telemedicine service has started by taking counselling from consultants residing in Kathmandu. The financial support is being provided by Aadhar Bikas Nepal for counseling arrangements from consultants.

Dr Ghanshyam Shah had given telemedicine services from Kathmandu on the inauguration day. A total of 11 people so far have received services after the start of the telemedicine service. Patients can directly contact physicians and can give details of the symptoms that they have been bearing, and based on that physicians can make a diagnosis, method of treatment and medicines.

The telemedicine service will be provided two days a month.

The  Aadhar Bikas Nepal will arrange other consultants after taking into account the disease of a patient receiving service at the health post.

Education Officer of Aadhar Bikas Nepal Kanjok Lama said that not only the consultation but also medicines will be provided. Not only consultation but also medicines will be provided to patients from humble backgrounds, the nature of the disease, and patients with complex health issues.

Similarly, aid will be given from a contingency fund to patients whose disease cannot be treated at the Health post for treatment services at the District Hospital or outside the district.
