Two DIGs recommended for AIG post

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Apr. 17: Two Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) of Nepal Police have been recommended for the Additional Inspector General (AIG) post.

The promotion committee meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs held on Monday recommended Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Umesh Raj Joshi and Bhim Prasad Dhakal, for promotion to the post of Additional Inspector General (AIG).

As AIG Sandeep Bhandari and Meera Chaudhary are going to retire this week on their age grounds, DIGs Joshi and Dhakal have been recommended for the position, according to a promotion notice issued by the Police Headquarters.

DIG Joshi is currently working at the National Police Training Academy, Maharajgunj. Similarly, Dhakal is working in the Secretariat of the Inspector General of Police (IGP).

Joshi, who was recommended for promotion, scored 73.8368 marks while Dhakal has 73.6306 marks.

Similarly, the meeting of the promotion committee recommended the Ministry of Home Affairs to promote two Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) from the technical police group in Nepal Police.

The meeting of the promotion committee recommended the promotion of SSP Er. Nabinda Aryal of Cyber Bureau and Dr. Deuti Gurung as DIG by creating special posts.

Similarly, the SSP of the Nepal Police Canine Office for the canine Sub-group Gurung has been recommended for promotion to DIG.
