'RSS and QNA agreement paves way for exchange of news'

Kathmandu, April 25: Executive Chairman of the National News Agency of Nepal (RSS) Dharmendra Jha underlined the importance of the memorandum of understanding signed between RSS and Qatar News Agency (QNA), saying that it establishes an important and pivotal stage for the media sector in his country.

In a statement to QNA, he noted the significance of the MoU as it was signed during the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to Nepal; stressing that the Amir's visit will enhance the relations between the two countries in various fields.

He indicated that the MoU signed between the two news agencies paves the way for cooperation between the two sides in several areas, including the exchange of news, visits and experiences, as well as cooperation on media topics of common interest.

This cooperation allows for learning about the vibrant media atmosphere in the State of Qatar, the rich experience of the Qatari media and its role in enhancing the Qatari presence regionally and globally, he added.

He noted that the MoU between the two sides will certainly enrich news content and coverage in the two countries' media because it will pave the way to exchange news related to the two countries.

He highlighted the role of Qatar News Agency in providing a distinguished and comprehensive news service, pointing to its vital role in updating the world about various local activities in their national, regional and international dimensions, as well as covering regional and global events.
