By Vijay Kumar Sah, Dhalkebar, May 2: There is scorching heat in the Terai Madhes as there is no rainfall.

The children of the local area spend their days diving in the local stream to beat the heavy heat.

Children visit the Kamala Irrigation Canal located at Raghunathpur, Sabaila Municipality, Dhanusha district, daily to take showers and spend the day enjoying canal water. The water is not so clean but children enjoy it.

The local child Aman Yadav said, “The school runs in the morning because of heat. We go to the canal for bathing as it gets hot at home. It provides relief to swim at canals.”

There is even a swimming competition. There is no risk as the water is not deep in the canal. Children in Terai Madhes therefore go swimming in the scorching heat.

The mercury points to 42 degrees Celsius in the area. Lives have been affected, fewer people go outside in the afternoon in marketplaces because of the scorching heat. The daily wage earners are affected the most by it.

Symptoms such as rashes in the body, etching, headache, dizziness, and fever, have been observed because of hot temperatures and heat waves.

According to the Health Directorate Madhesh Province, the number of people visiting hospitals has risen because of heat.

Likewise, even water resources are drying up because of heat.
