UN Assistant Secretary-General Kanni calls on PM

Kathmandu, May 2: UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Kanni Wignaraja, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' at Singhadurbar on Thursday.     

According to PM's Foreign Affairs Advisor Dr Rupak Sapkota, diverse issues of Nepal-UNDP cooperation were discussed at the meeting.     

On the occasion, the PM expressed his confidence that Nepal will continuously receive assistance from UNDP in the mitigation of climate change impacts and praised the UN's support to Nepal's socioeconomic development.     

Likewise, the UN Assistant Secretary-General Kanni congratulated Nepal for successfully completing the Nepal Investment Summit and stressed that Nepal-UNDP cooperation should be widened further.(RSS)
