24 contestants selected for Miss Nepal Peace

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, May 6: Twenty-four contestants have been selected for the 7th edition of the Miss Nepal Peace competition.

In the initial audition phase, over 200 nurses from four dozen nursing colleges and over 100 hospitals across the country participated.

The selected contestants include Pralija Dhakal, Divya Bam Thakuri, Priya Sunuwar, Nabina Hayu Rai, Priya Pandey, Samishka Bhandari, Lasta Shrestha, Suruchi Devkota, Swastika Budhathoki, Ayusha Guragain, Monika Thapa Magar, Seema Raut, Riya Joshi, Gunjana Banstola, Lalimaya Tamang, Salina Bade, Sija Karki, Apekshya Koirala, Bidhi Lamsal, Saditi Shrestha, Rabina Dangol, Anisha Parajuli, Kavita Pal and Pala Regmi. 

These contestants underwent training in communication skills, motivational development, leadership, design sense, public speaking, and career counseling for the final competition, said Ravi Dhamala, of the Next Models Nepal, the organiser of the event.

Former Miss Nepal Namrata Shrestha serves as the brand ambassador, with the top winner of the competition receiving various gifts in addition to representing Nepal at Miss Global.

 This social beauty pageant, uniquely tied to the health profession, has been organised regularly with the slogan ‘Shasakta Mahila Shabal Rashtra' (Empowered Women Strong Nation). 

Nurses aged between 16 and 28 years are participating in the competition.

Yaetna Pandey, managing director of NEXT’s Model Nepal, said that the competition aims to spread the message of peace internationally and instil a greater sense of responsibility towards the nursing profession and society among those studying nursing.

The final competition will be held on May 18 where half a dozen winners will be announced, informed the organiser.
