Party's split is unconstitutional: Chair Yadav

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 8: The Chairperson of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Nepal Upendra Yadav said that they will knock on the door of court against the split of the party.

He said that they are going in court as the fraction of the party has been illegal, and unconstitutional and the newly formed party was registered overnight in the Election Commission. 

Disseminating the aftermath of the split of the party by organizing the press conference at the party’s central office at Balkumari, Lalitpur, on Wednesday, Chairman Yadav said that Ashok Rai divided the party only for his vested interest and blamed it has no value as it jeopardized federalism, republics, issue of the identity of Madhes and issues of Madhes.  

 “The new party was registered overnight illegally and unconstitutionally. You all are aware of that. This is the first time that a new party has been registered in such a short time in the history of Nepal. It does not have any ideological base, therefore, a case can be filed. We have been considerate of his personal growth as well, Rai has become Member of Parliament (MP), minister, we cannot do more than that,” he said.

Chairperson Yadav said, “We are saying that the fraction of the party just for the sake of own vested interest, jeopardizing federalism, and the identity movement that has been the ideology, but when asked about it there is no answer.” 

He said, “We will it in court as the party's split was unconstitutional. It is a rumour that a new coalition government will form with the Nepali Congress. The support given to the incumbent government is there and will depend on the situation on how it will proceed.”
